Optional Activities
**Optional activities are created for both schools but families can decide to do one or both of the activities!
Chapter 1 & 2
Little Prairie- Draw a picture of your dream treehouse!
Prairie View- Sketch a design of your dream treehouse! Label some of the features you include in your design.
Chapter 3 & 4
Little Prairie- Think of your own ghost story, like the tales people in Blue River Creek tell about the Sherberts! Tell your spooky story to someone!

Chapter 5
Little Prairie and Prairie View- Iggy, Ada, and their friends are called “The Questioneers”. Create a list of questions you are curious about.
Chapter 6
Little Prairie- Iggy likes to make houses out of food. Pretend you live in a house made out of food! Draw a picture of your food house.
Prairie View- Iggy describes Art Nouveau in this chapter. Research a different style of architecture. What makes the style unique?
Chapter 7 & 8
Little Prairie and Prairie View- Make a prediction! List 5 things you think Iggy and his friends will find inside the Mysterious Mansion.
Chapter 9 & 10
Little Prairie- The mansion does not have electricity. Brainstorm some fun things you could do that do not use electricity.
Prairie View- What tasks would be hardest to do in a world without electricity? Brainstorm some solutions!
Chapter 11 & 12
Little Prairie and Prairie View- Aunt Bernice owns the “Can You Dig It” shop, and Sofia’s grandfather owned a bakery. What business would you like to own someday? Share your ideas with someone!

Little Prairie- Draw a picture of Honey Sherbert’s seventh birthday party!
Prairie View- Design a poster to advertise the party on page 75 to all the people of Blue River Creek! Why should people attend?

Little Prairie- What belongings are most important to you? List 5 things you would put in your “treasure case”, like the one Aunt Bernice has.

Little Prairie- Iggy thinks there is an extra hidden room in the mansion. Imagine our school has a secret room! Where would it be? What would be inside? Tell a friend about your ideas!
